Kicker DS693 Review

They seem to be well-liked, and are designed to be a great, budget-friendly replacement for factory-installed read deck speakers. However, this doesn’t mean by any stretch that the sound quality that these speakers produce is identical to stock speakers’. Obviously, aftermarket speakers are known to outclass factory-installed speakers, and the Kicker DS693 are no exception.

The Kicker DS693 speakers are rated for a sensitivity rating of 92 dB and can handle up to 70 watts RMS. These three way speakers use stiff polypropylene cones supported by heavy-duty polyester foam surrounds for accurate bass response. Kicker 40CS6934 Review

Kicker 40CS6934 6X9 speakers review This is another powerful, yet reasonably-priced pair of 6X9 speakers from Kicker. The 40CS6934 speakers can handle a great deal of power. They’re rated for 150 watts RMS. Combine that with their high sensitivity rating of 92 dB and you get speakers that really live up to the Kicker slogan “living loud”.

One thing to keep in mind is that since these speakers are designed to handle a significantly high amount of power on continuous basis, it’s better to hook them up to an external amplifier. I’m not saying that they’ll sound awful running off of your head unit, but it’s wise to give these speakers the required amount of power for optimal results. Sure thing, these speakers are very sensitive, but bear in mind that no car head unit out there can put out 50 watts RMS, let alone 150 watts.

Unlike full-range speakers in which all the sound drivers are combined in one unit, component speakers (also known as separates) use an sophisticated design to give you the optimal sound-staging and imaging performance. A typical component speaker consists a woofer, a tweeter, and an external crossover — all of which are mounted separately from each other, but are designed to work in conjunction with one another.(more on component VS. coaxial speakers).
