Best 6.75 Car Speakers Reviews

Pioneer TS-A1685R Speakers Review

Pioneer TS-A1685R 6.75 Speakers ReviewPioneer A series speakers are some of the best car speakers on the market. Not only do they sound great, but they’re also very reasonably priced.

They’re also quite popular on today’s market and seem to be well-liked, probably because they’re in more of a middle-high price range.

The Pioneer TS-A1685R are one of the best 6.75 car speakers around. They’re equipped with multi-layer mica-matrix woofers that maintain their rigidity even at high volume levels, keeping noise and distortion to a minimum, so the bass sounds punchy, full, and clean.

These woofers are supported by lightweight elastic polymer surround for high sensitivity and responsiveness. Each one of these woofers is paired up with a midrange speaker, a tweeter, and a super-tweeter for a smooth on- and off-axis response.

This 4-way design allows the mid and high frequencies to be projected in a uniform and wide dispersion pattern, resulting in a well-balanced sound output.

The TS-A1685R speakers feature 14% larger cones than conventional 6½” speakers, yet they fit into the exact same cutout openings. The result is deeper low frequencies reproduction.

These speakers can handle up to 60 watts of power on continuous basis. They’re rated for a sensitivity rating of 91 dB and have a relatively wide frequency range.

As for cons, it’s really difficult to think of any. If anything, I’d say that despite their high sensitivity rating, you may want to pair  these speakers up to a decent external amplifier for optimal sound quality.

Don’t get me wrong, the Pioneer TS-A1685R speakers will sound great running off almost any factory-installed or aftermarket head unit, but they’ll really shine when driven by an outboard amp.

Infinity Kappa 60.11CS Review

Infinity Kappa 60.11CS 6.75 speakers ReviewThis is going to be the most expensive pick of the lot by far. These 6.75 component car speakers are very well-engineered and would be a great investment for anyone who’s looking for great sounding 6.75 car speakers that can make a night and day difference.

The Infinity Kappa 60.11CS speakers feature large edge-driven 3/4″ soft dome tweeters designed to handle more power and to deliver smooth response way down into midrange frequencies usually not covered by regular smaller “W”-shaped domes.

Thereby, you’ll enjoy clear vocals, chunky guitar riffs, and powerful drums that have always been part of your music, but have remained hidden your worn-out factory-installed speakers. If you’re more concerned about sound quality than bass, then , the Infinity Kappa 60.11CS speakers are a great option to consider.

Once installed, you’ll hear a more clearly defined sound stage where you can picture the placement of every instrument.

Infinity Kappa 60.11CS speakers sport glass fiber woofers with Plus One+ technology, which hold their shape even at high volume levels, so you get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber is a very lightweight, and responsive material, so you don’t need a ton of power to drive this woofer.

Infinity likes to brag about its patented Plus One+ technology which simply extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, resulting in a more surface area than with most comparable speakers of the same size.

A large cone surface allows the speakers to move more air, which results in a louder, yet deeper bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

Kenwood KFC-1795PS Review

Kenwood KFC-1795PS 6.75 speakers reviewThe Kenwood KFC-1795PS are another top rated 6.75 car speakers on the market. These budget-friendly 3-way speakers are designed from the ground up with sound quality in mind, so you’ll get the biggest sonic bang for your buck.

The KFC-1795PS 6-3/4″ 3-way speakers feature water-resistant paper cones with radial rib pattern, which increases speaker strength and delivers more responsive bass and superior clarity at higher volume levels.

The KFC-1795PS’s cones are supported by rubber surround for improved power handling, reduced distortion, durability, and more controlled bass.

Musical details such as instruments, vocals …etc are handled by the 1-9/16″ paper tweeters and 1/2″ ceramic super-tweeters.

The KFC-1795PS can handle up to 80 watts RMS, and are rated for 88 dB sensitivity rating which is a bit lacking compared to the other speakers we listed here.

Additionally and while most 6.75 car speakers can hit as low as 35 Hz, the KFC-1795PS speakers can only reach 70 Hz. So, their bass output won’t sound that fuller and punchy as with speakers with wide a frequency range.

The result is precise linear excursion, crystal clear and well-balanced sound output.

The Kicker 40CSS674 speakers are also very responsive. They’re rated for a sensitivity rating of 90 dB. Their 3/4″ titanium dome tweeters handle all the musical details such as the vocals and instrumental details that’ll really bring your music to life.

Kicker 40CS674 Review

Kicker 40CS674 6.75 car speakers reviewThe brother of the 40CSS674, the main difference between that pair of speakers and this one is that these speakers are coaxial while the other ones are component.

The difference between the two is actually quite simple and straightforward, but I’ll go ahead and give it to you since we’re all friends here, and we’ve got the time.

Car speakers come in two varieties : component and coaxial. Coaxial’s speakers (also known as full-range speakers) combine all the speaker elements in one chassis.

In their very simplest form they consist of a woofer for the low frequencies reproduction, and a tweeter mounted onto the woofer to produce the highs. Some brands aren’t afraid to push the envelope and equip their speakers with some additional drivers like midrange or super tweeter.

Component speakers on the other hand use an advanced speaker design to give you the best possible sound. Their drivers (tweeters, woofers and crossovers) are separated from each other — all of which come designed to work in conjunction with one another.

Now, as we’ve made this clear, choosing between the Kicker’s 40CS674 (coaxial speakers) and 40CSS674 (component speakers) boils down to personal preference. They’re made with the same material and have almost the same specifications.
