1. Pioneer TS-A4675R Review

Pioneer TS-A4675R speakers reviewPioneer is one of the most authoritative brands in this industry. They have been around for a very long time and they have mastered the art of producing quality products for a great price.

We have reviewed many Pioneer car speakers on this site before – particularly A series speakers – which seem to be well-liked. They are reasonably priced and would a great investment for anybody who doesn’t want to splurge on the most expensive pair possible, but still want to get speakers that can deliver a well-balanced sound.

Like many Pioneer A series speakers (6.5, 6×8,6×9 …etc), the TS-A4675R are made with high quality materials which allow for an excellent sound experience.

Pioneer TS-A4675R feature one of the widest frequency range among all 4X6 speakers available on the market.Additionally and unlike many 4X6 speakers on the market, Pioneer designed the TS-A4675R to be 3 way speakers, which means they are equipped with an extra sound driver called the midrange which is the component responsible for the mids.

All in all, the TS-A4675R are designed from the ground up to breathe a new life into your car sound system. Mount these speakers in your car and thank us later. You’ll be able to enjoy the clear vocals, chunky guitar riffs, powerful drums, and a decent lows that have always been a part of your favorite tunes, but have remained hidden behind sub-par factory speakers.

If I had to pick any cons, it would be the sensitivity. While most 4X6 speakers are rated at above 90 dB, the TS-A4675R are rated at only 88 dB. Sensitivity rating is a critical key spec that should be taken into consideration when you’re looking for new car speakers. It refers to the amount of sound a pair of speakers can yield from the power applied to it. These speakers are also lacking much continuous power handling. While most 4X6 speakers are rated at over 50 watts, the TS-A4675R are only able to handle 30 watts on continuous basis.

  • Design : 3-Way
  • Sensitivity : 88 dB
  • Power Handling :
    • RMS : 30 watts
    • Peak : 200 watts
  • Frequency range : 39-39,000 Hz

2. Kicker DSC46 (41DSC46) Speakers Review

Kicker DSC46 speakers reviewKicker DSC46 is another great option worth considering. These speakers are a good replacement for stock speakers. They are also budget friendly.

Kicker car speakers are mid-range car speakers. They’re pretty popular on today’s market and represent one of the handful of major brands. They specialize in car audio products, selling car speakers, multi- and mono-channel amplifiers, subwoofers and loaded enclosures.

These speakers produce decent bass, but the true magic comes from the mid/high range. That’s where these speakers really shine. The only downside, conceivably, is the weak power handling. The Kicker DSC46 are lagging behind the competition in terms of continuous power handling (RMS). They are rated at 30 watts RMS, which is quite low compared to the other speakers we listed here. With that in mind, these speakers would be a great replacement to stereo system powered by a factory head unit.

  • Design :  2-Way
  • Sensitivity :  88 dB
  • Power Handling :
    • RMS  : 30 watts
    • Peak : 120 watts
  • Frequency range : 50-20,000 Hz
  • Impedance : 4 ohm

3. Rockford Fosgate Punch P1462 Review

Rockford Fosgate Punch P1462 reviewThe Rockford Fosgate offer a simple and sleek design. What they also offer is an inexpensive way to get your hands on a solid, reliable pair of speakers. They are practically simplicity personified. The design is bare-bones, but not to a fault; their grilles aren’t that flashy. they are very simple and will suit most car’s interior.

Rockford Fosgate are very inexpensive. That’s part of what makes them so appealing. You can get a reliable pair for under $50. The Punch P1462 are perfect speakers for those just wanting a decent upgrade over stock speakers.

The only downside to these speakers, conceivably, is the lack of bass. Granted, these speakers can only hit as low as 90 Hz, which is quite weak compared to the other speakers with deeper frequency response. With that said, the Punch P1462 are best suited to people who don’t listen to heavy bass tracks and are more into metal, jazz or rock.

  • Design :  2-Way
  • Sensitivity :  87 dB
  • Power Handling
    • RMS  : 35 watts
    • Peak : 70 watts
  • Frequency range : 90 – 22,000 Hz

4. Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp 4X6 Speakers Review

Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers reviewInfinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers are going to be the most expensive pick of the lot by far. If you believe that you get what you pay for, the Kappa series speakers proves that axiom right.

Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers feature the highest sensitivity rating (94 dB). They can also handle a great deal of power on continuous basis. So, whether you have a low- or high-powered sound system, you can’t go wrong with Kappa 462.11cfp speakers.

Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers are equipped with large soft dome tweeters designed to handle more power which results in smooth response way down into the mids (midrange frequencies) not covered by smaller “W”-shaped domes. In addition, each tweeter features a level control switch so you can adjust highs brightness to your taste. The Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers get really loud while staying crystal clear.

Infinity likes to brag about its patented plus one+ woofer technology. This technology extends the cones right up to the edge of the basket, giving you more surface area than with most comparable speakers. A larger cone means more bass to complement the superior, bright high-frequency response.

The Infinity Kappa 462.11cfp speakers are truly the best 4X6 speakers. Most forums agree. We personally think they are the best, all things considered.

  • Design :  2-Way

  • Power Handling
    • RMS  : 60 watts
    • Peak : 180 watts
  • Frequency range : 75 – 25,000 Hz

5. JBL GTO6429 Premium Review

6. Polk Audio DB461P Speakers Review

Polk Audio DB461P speakers reviewPolk Audio makes some of the best car speakers. We are particularly fond of their dB series speakers. If you have read some of our reviews of these speakers (6×9, 6.5 and 6×8), you will know why. You truly get a solid sound experience with dB series speakers.

If you are on the lookout for a great pair of 4X6 speakers, and don’t want to splurge on the most expensive pair possible, then Polk Audio DB461P speakers are a great choice if you want to ease into upgrading your stereo system. You can usually find the DB461P speakers sold for about $60 at most online retailers or electronic stores.

In terms of sound quality, the DB461P speakers are wonderful speakers for mids and highs. The construction of the speakers are great as well. dB series speakers are marine certified. Which means that you can also mount them not only in vehicles but in boats as well. They are built with high quality materials, so they are able to withstand harsh environment conditions. The DB461P speakers have a very large magnet than most comparable speakers, yet the speakers are very low profile and will easily fit most cars on the road.

As for cons, it’s really difficult to think of any. If anything, I would say these speakers lack bass, but that it to be expected from this type of speaker. You can improve on that – at least some extent – by laying down some dampener and foam to get better response from your speakers. They will also sound much better if you stuff some foam behind them and ditch the foam baffles in front.

  • Design : 2-way
  • Sensitivity : 91 dB
  • Power Handling
    • RMS  : 50 watts
    • Peak : 150 watts
  • Frequency range : 71-22,000 Hz

7. Kicker 40CS464 Speakers Review

Kicker 40CS464 speakers reviewThe Kicker 40CS464 are one of the most affordable speaker options around at approximately $30. Despite the low price, they are effective at delivering a relatively above par sound.

As with most 4×6 speakers, there is minimal bass. The highs and the mids sound good. And since these speakers can handle a decent amount of power, we believe that they would probably sound even better with a little more power behind them.

  • Design : 2-Way
  • Sensitivity : 88 dB
  • Power Handling
    • RMS : 50 watts
    • Peak : 150 watts
  • Frequency range : 50-20,000 Hz
