Kicker 41KM84LCW Review

Kicker 41KM84LCW 8 inch marine speakers reviewWe’ve reviewed a ton of Kicker audio components on this site before including speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers, and the story hasn’t changed. Kicker makes quality product for a reasonable price.

Unlike car speakers, Kicker offers only a few marine speakers. However, their marine speakers are very well-made and seem to be well-liked.

The 41KM84LCW speakers are some of the best 8 inch marine speakers that Kicker has to offer. These speakers can handle up to 150 watts RMS and are rated for 92 dB sensitivity rating.

These speakers can make some serious noise. They sound great and look even better. The thing that makes these speakers stand out from the crowd aside from sound quality is their built-in multi-color LED lighting system that can be easily changed to fit your mood using a remote control. This is also a nice feature for night time parties. These speakers also come with easy-to-match charcoal and white grilles, so you can choose the look that best matches your boat, then adjust the light color to suit your mood.

These stylish 8 inch marine speakers are quite powerful. They’re designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions. They feature UV-treated polypropylene woofers supported by durable santoprene rubber surround for consistent, reliable performance. Their sealed motor structure and locking terminal covers will keep water splashes away from the internal componentry.

The Kicker 41KM84LCW speakers are equipped with 1″ balanced dome titanium tweeters with neodymium magnet. These tweeters are very efficient at reproducing highs that will easily cut through wind, waves, and engine roar.

MCM Custom Audio 60-10031 Review

MCM Custom Audio 60-10031 8 inch wakeboard tower speakers reviewThese are some of the best, budget-friendly 8 inch wakeboard tower speakers on the market. They’re designed to be mounted on a boat’s wakeboard tower, UTV, or any suitable tube or rail.

These speakers can handle 130 watts RMS and have a sensitivity rating of 91 dB. They would be a great investment for anyone who’s on a tight budget and looking for decent wakeboard tower speakers with decent sound quality. Don’t expect these speakers to sound very loud running off of your receiver, but with the right amp, they definitely can get louder.

The MCM Custom Audio 60-10031 speakers feature 8″ poly cone woofers with rubber surround. However, despite their large woofers, don’t expect these speakers to deliver that big bass you’d usually get from a subwoofer.

Our only concern about these wakeboard tower speakers is their plastic mounting brackets. Don’t get me wrong, these brackets are tough and rugged, but metal mounting brackets should have been used instead of plastic ones. The problem with plastic mounting brackets is that in choppy water or if you mount these speakers on an off-road vehicle, they’ll wiggle and might even break.

Pioneer TS-MR2040 Review

Pioneer TS-MR2040 8 inch marine speakers reviewThis is another great pair of 8 inch marine speakers made by Pioneer – which is one of the most recognized brands in the mobile audio industry.

The Pioneer TS-MR2040 speakers can handle only 40 watts on continuous basis (RMS), which is quite low compared to the other 8 inch marine speakers we listed here. However, with their high sensitivity rating, the Pioneer TS-MR2040 speakers put that power to good use, so you don’t have to worry about them not sounding good enough.

These speakers are engineered to deliver a well-balanced sound despite their weak power handling. They have good bass response and their mids are just spectacular. And when it comes to high frequencies, that’s where these speakers really shine – and that’s thanks to their 3/4″ poly-imide reflex horn tweeters.

The Pioneer TS-MR2040 will sound great running off of your receiver, but they’ll really shine when hooked up to an external amplifier.

Dollar for dollar, these speakers will make a night and day difference. They’re the best 8 inch marine speakers on the market, all things considered (price, sound-quality, design …etc).

Rockford PM282B 8 inch marine speakers reviewThis is what you get can if you’re willing to spend a few hundred dollars. These 8 inch marine speakers are going to be to most expensive pick of the lot by far. They’re very well-engineered and well-designed. As with most quality marine speakers, the Rockford PM282 speakers feature injection molded mineral filled polypropylene cones supported by UV and salt-fog resistant TPE (Thermo-Plastic Elastomer) surround for long lasting and reliable performance. As for sound quality, these speakers sound impressive. They can play quite loud with minimal distortion if any at all.
