Reviews of The Best 4X10 Car Speakers

1. Kenwood KFC-415C Speakers Review

Kenwood KFC-415C speakers reviewKenwood is one of the most established brands in this industry. They design, develop and market a wide range of car audio, Hi-Fi home and personal audio, and amateur radio (“ham”) equipment. They’ve been in business for a very long time. And they have mastered the art of providing quality products for a reasonable price. We like Kenwood car speakers and this one is no exception.

The Kenwood KFC-415C are very sensitive. They are rated for a sensitivity rating of 91 dB. And they can handle a decent amount of power (40 watts) on continuous basis which makes them best suited for low-powered car sound systems running off of a factory-installed headunit. The Kenwood KFC-415C have a 160 watts peak wattage rating that gives the speakers enough room to handle huge musical frequency spikes and therefore prevent clipping and distortion as wattage fluctuates throughout a song.

If you are really not wanting to spend a lot of cash on a pair of 4X10 car speakers, but you still want brand name speakers with a decent sound quality, then the Kenwood KFC-415C should suffice.

Despite their size and weak power handling capability, the Kenwood KFC-415C produce decent bass. The built-in tweeters are also very good. All in all, these speakers are a great deal for the price.

2. Kicker 11KS410 Speakers Review

Kicker KS410 speakers reviewThis is going to be the most expensive pick of the lot by far. The Kicker 11KS410 speakers are what you can get if you’re willing to invest a bit of money. These speakers are very well-engineered and would be a great investment for anyone who’s looking for solid quality 4X10 speakers that are designed from the ground up with quality in mind.

The Kicker KS410 speakers use heavy-duty tapered polymer cones supported by tough Santoprene rubber surrounds which allow for smooth midrange frequencies for the most accurate musical reproduction. KICKER’s exclusive Extended Voice Coil (EVC™) technology on the other hand allows for high excursion and superior bass response.

Kicker KS series speakers are equipped with 1/2″ balanced Kaladex-dome tweeters with stout neodymium magnets and phase alignment. These tweeters deliver will reveal every detail of your music.

With that being said, you’re not going to enter the car audio competition with these speakers, but unless your car is equipped with high-end premium speakers, the Kicker KS410 will sound significantly better than your stock speakers.

The sound is fantastic with great highs and lows. The bass sounds perfectly balanced. All things considered, the Kicker KS410 are worth every penny. You simply can’t go wrong buying these speakers. The only downside, conceivably, is the low sensitivity rating. While most 4X10 speakers are rated for over 90 dB, the Kicker 11KS410 are only rated for 88 dB.

Lanzar VX410 VX Speakers ReviewLanzar is a brand that we haven’t discussed much on our site. 4. Pioneer TS-A4103 Speakers Review

Pioneer TS-A4103 speakers reviewPioneer is Japanese multinational corporation that specializes in digital entertainment equipment. They were established in 1983. They are one of the best car speaker brands around.

We have reviewed a ton of Pioneer products on this site before, including car speakers, amps, double & single headunits, and the story hasn’t changed. Pioneer produces a quality product for a great price.

If you got sick and tired of those distortion-prone worn-out 4″x10″ speakers in your ride, and want a decent replacement without spending a lot of cash, then Pioneer TS-A4103 are a great option worth considering. Pioneer designed the TS-A4103 2-way speakers as a decent replacement for the 4″x10″ factory speakers found in many cars rear deck and headliner.

In terms of sound quality, the TS-A4103 put out some pretty clean mids and highs but they don’t carry bass very well, which is not a big deal if you have a subwoofer to pair them with. However, if you don’t have a subwoofer and you listen to heavy bass music very often, then the TS-A4103 speakers aren’t for you. The vocals and sound in general are quite clear but the bass reproduction is the major drawback with these speakers.

Pioneer TS-A4103 Specifications
  • Size : 4 X 10
  • Sensitivity : 91 dB
  • Power Handling
    • RMS  :  35 Watts
    • Peak : 120 Watts
  • Frequency response : 38 – 23,000 Hz
  • Top-mount depth : 2-1/2″
